Juicy and flavorful barbecue chicken leg quarters are perfect for family gatherings and summer cookouts.
Ingredients

- 4 chicken leg quarters
- 2 – 3 tablespoons BBQ seasoning (low sugar)
- ½ cup apple juice
- ½ cup barbecue sauce
Instructions
- Start by removing all visible fat from the chicken quarters.
- Generously rub the BBQ seasoning over the chicken leg quarters.
- Preheat your gas grill to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Place the seasoned chicken in the center of the grill, directly over the turned-off burner.
- Cover the grill and let the chicken cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Mix the apple juice with ½ cup of water in a spray bottle.
- After 10 to 15 minutes, carefully turn the chicken quarters over.
- Continue cooking for about 50 minutes, basting every 10 to 15 minutes.
- When it’s almost done, baste both sides with barbecue sauce and grill for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For best results, marinate the chicken ahead of time and use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness.
