Description

Juicy and flavorful barbecue chicken leg quarters are perfect for family gatherings and summer cookouts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken leg quarters
  • 23 tablespoons BBQ seasoning (low sugar)
  • ½ cup apple juice
  • ½ cup barbecue sauce

Instructions

  1. Start by removing all visible fat from the chicken quarters.
  2. Generously rub the BBQ seasoning over the chicken leg quarters.
  3. Preheat your gas grill to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  4. Place the seasoned chicken in the center of the grill, directly over the turned-off burner.
  5. Cover the grill and let the chicken cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
  6. Mix the apple juice with ½ cup of water in a spray bottle.
  7. After 10 to 15 minutes, carefully turn the chicken quarters over.
  8. Continue cooking for about 50 minutes, basting every 10 to 15 minutes.
  9. When it’s almost done, baste both sides with barbecue sauce and grill for an additional 5 minutes.
  10. Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, marinate the chicken ahead of time and use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness.
