Description

A hearty and comforting stew made with tender beef, fresh vegetables, and savory broth, perfect for chilly days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds beef chuck, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 2 potatoes, diced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add beef and brown on all sides.
  2. Stir in onions and garlic; cook until onions are translucent.
  3. Add beef broth, carrots, potatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 90 to 120 minutes, or until beef is tender.
  5. Stir in chopped cabbage and cook for an additional 20 minutes.
  6. Adjust seasoning as needed before serving.

Notes

Serve hot with crusty bread. For extra flavor, consider fresh herbs or hot sauce.
