- 2 pounds Ground Beef (80/20)
- 1 cup Italian Breadcrumbs
- 2 large Eggs
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1/2 cup Ketchup
- 1 medium Minced Onion (finely chopped)
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1/2 cup Ketchup (for topping)
- 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, one half-cup of ketchup, minced onion, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix the ingredients well until fully combined, but do not overmix.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the remaining half-cup of ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Pour this mixture over the meatloaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour. Check for doneness, and when the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C), it’s ready.
- Let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Don’t overmix the meat when combining ingredients. Use lean ground beef for a healthier option. Feel free to customize with herbs or cheese.
