Ingredients

  • 1 cup Italian Breadcrumbs
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup
  • 1 medium Minced Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup (for topping)
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, one half-cup of ketchup, minced onion, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Mix the ingredients well until fully combined, but do not overmix.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the remaining half-cup of ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Pour this mixture over the meatloaf.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour. Check for doneness, and when the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C), it’s ready.
  8. Let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Don’t overmix the meat when combining ingredients. Use lean ground beef for a healthier option. Feel free to customize with herbs or cheese.
