- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup (plus extra for topping)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, and minced garlic.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, pepper, thyme, and oregano.
- Pour the egg mixture into the meat mixture and mix until everything is well combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish lined with parchment paper.
- Spread extra ketchup on top of the meatloaf for added flavor.
- Bake for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For best flavor and juiciness, use ground beef with a fat content of around 80/20. Let it rest after baking to hold in the juices.
