Instructions

  1. Prepare the cake according to package instructions or your homemade recipe, then cool and cut into 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form.
  3. Prepare cherries by draining canned ones or washing and pitting fresh ones. Combine with reserved cherry juice.
  4. Layer the ingredients in a trifle dish, starting with chocolate cake cubes, followed by cherries, vanilla pudding, and whipped cream. Repeat layers and end with whipped cream.
