- 2 cups vanilla pudding (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions
- Prepare the cake according to package instructions or your homemade recipe, then cool and cut into 1-inch cubes.
- In a medium bowl, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form.
- Prepare cherries by draining canned ones or washing and pitting fresh ones. Combine with reserved cherry juice.
- Layer the ingredients in a trifle dish, starting with chocolate cake cubes, followed by cherries, vanilla pudding, and whipped cream. Repeat layers and end with whipped cream.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld.
