Ingredients

  • 4 large sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup chopped bacon
  • 1/2 cup pecans
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large pot, boil the sweet potatoes until tender. Peel and mash until smooth.
  3. In a medium bowl, blend the mashed sweet potatoes with brown sugar, bourbon, milk, unsalted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour the sweet potato mixture into a greased baking dish.
  5. In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy, then add pecans and maple syrup, cooking until the pecans are toasted.
