Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool on wire racks.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
