Description

A hearty dish combining the classic flavors of a Philly cheesesteak in a warm, bubbly bread bake that the whole family will enjoy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (or shaved steak for authentic flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough, cut into quarters
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
  3. Add the diced onion and bell peppers to the skillet. Cook for 3–4 minutes until they are softened.
  4. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well to combine and remove from heat.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the biscuit pieces, the cooked beef and vegetable mixture, half of the mozzarella, half of the cheddar, and heavy cream. Toss gently to coat.
  6. Transfer the combined mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the top.
  8. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes until the biscuits are cooked through, the cheese has melted, and the top is golden and bubbly.
  9. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. You can experiment with different vegetables like mushrooms or spinach.
