- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 can of cream of mushroom soup
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and ground beef; cook until the beef is browned and the onion is soft.
- Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced potatoes, cream of mushroom soup, and milk.
- Layer half of the potato mixture in a greased baking dish, followed by the cooked beef and onion mixture, and then half of the shredded cheese.
- Top with the remaining potato mixture and cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve hot with a simple salad or steamed vegetables. An airtight container can be used to store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or frozen for 3 months.
