Description

Delicious and satisfying cheesy meatball subs with savory meatballs, rich marinara sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese in toasted hoagie rolls.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Olive oil for toasting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and form into meatballs.
  3. Place meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  4. In a saucepan, heat marinara sauce and add the cooked meatballs.
  5. Cut hoagie rolls open and lightly brush with olive oil. Toast in the oven until golden.
  6. Fill each roll with meatballs and sauce, then top with mozzarella cheese.
  7. Return subs to the oven and bake until the cheese is bubbly and melted.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy your cheesy meatball subs!

Notes

Store leftover subs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze unassembled meatballs and rolls separately for up to 2 months.
