Description

A fun and easy dish that combines the flavors of tacos with cheesy goodness, all baked into handy little cups.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 450 grams ground beef
  • 1 package canned biscuit dough (approximately 8 biscuits, 340 grams total)
  • 28 grams taco seasoning (1 standard packet)
  • 100 grams cheddar cheese, hand shredded
  • Sour cream, to serve
  • Diced tomatoes, to serve
  • Shredded lettuce, to serve

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C and grease a standard muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Separate biscuits and carefully split each horizontally to create thinner disks. Press each half into the muffin tin wells, ensuring dough covers bottom and sides.
  3. Heat a medium skillet over medium heat, add ground beef, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Add taco seasoning and required water as per packet instructions. Stir well and simmer until thickened.
  5. Reduce heat to low and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until fully melted and combined.
  6. Evenly spoon beef and cheese mixture into prepared biscuit cups.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 15 minutes, until biscuit cups are golden brown and thoroughly cooked.
  8. Allow taco cups to cool slightly. Carefully lift each cup from the muffin tin using a butter knife if needed.
  9. Top each cup with sour cream, diced tomatoes, and shredded lettuce. Serve warm.

Notes

For added flavor, customize the taco seasoning with extra spices. You can use frozen biscuit dough or make them vegetarian with black beans or lentils.
