- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk or water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, flour, and salt until crumbly. Press two-thirds of this mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
- Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over the crust.
- Combine the remaining one-third of the crust mixture with rolled oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Sprinkle this crumble topping over the cherry filling.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.
- Cool for a bit, then mix powdered sugar with milk or water to create a glaze and drizzle over the bars.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
Use room-temperature butter for even mixing. Press the crust firmly for even baking. Let cool before glazing for cleaner slices.
