Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk or water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, flour, and salt until crumbly. Press two-thirds of this mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
  3. Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over the crust.
  4. Combine the remaining one-third of the crust mixture with rolled oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Sprinkle this crumble topping over the cherry filling.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.
  6. Cool for a bit, then mix powdered sugar with milk or water to create a glaze and drizzle over the bars.
  7. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Use room-temperature butter for even mixing. Press the crust firmly for even baking. Let cool before glazing for cleaner slices.
