- 3 large apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup rum
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
- In a bowl, mix together the sliced apples and sugar, then set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, rum, and eggs. Add in the vanilla extract and mix well.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the apple mixture carefully.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, and sprinkle powdered sugar for decoration. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
