Description

A healthier twist on the classic chicken parmesan, featuring creamy cottage cheese for added protein and flavor.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  2. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Pour marinara sauce evenly over the chicken breasts. Spoon cottage cheese on top, followed by mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  4. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  5. Let it cool for a few minutes, garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve warm.

Choose uniform chicken breasts for even cooking; don’t skip the searing for enhanced flavor and juiciness.
