- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Pour marinara sauce evenly over the chicken breasts. Spoon cottage cheese on top, followed by mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes, garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
Choose uniform chicken breasts for even cooking; don’t skip the searing for enhanced flavor and juiciness.
