Description

A delightful side dish that combines the sweetness of corn with creamy goodness, perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 10-ounce bag frozen corn (or canned corn, drained well)
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt (or plain salt)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • Pinch garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (I use salted)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (or shredded Parmesan)
  • Fresh cracked pepper & salt (to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl or measuring cup, whisk the milk and flour together and set aside.
  2. In a medium-sized skillet, over medium heat, add the whipping cream, seasoned salt, pepper, sugar, garlic powder, and butter. Mix everything as the butter melts.
  3. Once the butter has melted, stir in the corn and then add the milk/flour mixture.
  4. Continue stirring over medium heat, allowing the sauce to thicken and the corn to cook through. This should only take a few minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and add the Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese is completely melted and evenly combined.
  6. Season with fresh cracked pepper and salt to taste. Serve hot, and enjoy!

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of smoked paprika or a dash of hot sauce. If you want it extra creamy, increase the amount of heavy cream.
