Description
A delightful side dish that combines the sweetness of corn with creamy goodness, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 10-ounce bag frozen corn (or canned corn, drained well)
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt (or plain salt)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- Pinch garlic powder (optional)
- 1 tablespoon butter (I use salted)
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (or shredded Parmesan)
- Fresh cracked pepper & salt (to taste)
Instructions
- In a small bowl or measuring cup, whisk the milk and flour together and set aside.
- In a medium-sized skillet, over medium heat, add the whipping cream, seasoned salt, pepper, sugar, garlic powder, and butter. Mix everything as the butter melts.
- Once the butter has melted, stir in the corn and then add the milk/flour mixture.
- Continue stirring over medium heat, allowing the sauce to thicken and the corn to cook through. This should only take a few minutes.
- Remove from heat and add the Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese is completely melted and evenly combined.
- Season with fresh cracked pepper and salt to taste. Serve hot, and enjoy!
Notes
For a richer flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of smoked paprika or a dash of hot sauce. If you want it extra creamy, increase the amount of heavy cream.
