Description
A comforting dish combining creamy goodness with robust garlic and Parmesan cheese, perfect for dinner or as a side.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups vegetable broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook orzo according to package directions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add vegetable broth and bring to a simmer. Lower heat and stir in the heavy cream, warming it through.
- Gradually incorporate the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until melted and creamy. Season with salt and pepper.
- Return the cooked orzo to the pot, stirring to coat the pasta with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Serve immediately, topped with fresh parsley for garnish.
Notes
Don’t overcook the orzo; use fresh garlic for best flavor. Adjust thickness with vegetable broth or cream as needed.
