Description
A delightful dish combining tender steak and cheesy tortellini in a rich, creamy sauce, perfect for a cozy dinner or special occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 20 oz cheese tortellini
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
- Parsley, chopped (optional)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tortellini and cook according to package instructions until tender. Drain and set aside.
- Season the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika on both sides.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned steak and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and whole milk, stirring well. Cook for a few minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.
- Lower the heat and stir in the parmesan cheese until fully melted and combined.
- Slice the cooked steak thinly and add it to the sauce along with the cooked tortellini. Toss everything together to coat.
- Serve hot, optionally garnished with chopped parsley, red pepper flakes, and cracked black pepper.
Notes
Make sure not to overcook the steak; medium-rare gives the best flavor and tenderness. Fresh tortellini will give a better texture than dried.
