Description

A delightful dish combining tender steak and cheesy tortellini in a rich, creamy sauce, perfect for a cozy dinner or special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 oz cheese tortellini
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
  • Parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tortellini and cook according to package instructions until tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika on both sides.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned steak and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest.
  4. In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and whole milk, stirring well. Cook for a few minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.
  6. Lower the heat and stir in the parmesan cheese until fully melted and combined.
  7. Slice the cooked steak thinly and add it to the sauce along with the cooked tortellini. Toss everything together to coat.
  8. Serve hot, optionally garnished with chopped parsley, red pepper flakes, and cracked black pepper.

Notes

Make sure not to overcook the steak; medium-rare gives the best flavor and tenderness. Fresh tortellini will give a better texture than dried.
