Description

Jalapeno Popper Twists are a flavorful snack with creamy cheese and a spicy jalapeno kick, wrapped in flaky puff pastry.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry (thawed)
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese (or Monterey Jack)
  • 1/2 cup Sliced Jalapenos (fresh or pickled)
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 large Egg (for egg wash)
  • as needed Dipping Sauces (ranch, sriracha mayo, or honey mustard)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, sliced jalapenos, and garlic powder until well combined.
  3. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface. Cut it into strips, about 1 inch wide.
  4. Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture at one end of each pastry strip.
  5. Fold the pastry over the filling and twist the strip to seal it. Place it seam side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over each twist for a golden color.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed up.
  8. Allow to cool slightly, then serve with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

For a different flavor, you can add bacon bits or switch to pepper jack cheese. These can also be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
