Description
A delightful treat combining sweetness of apples and warmth of spices, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
- ½ cup sugar
- ¾ tablespoon baking powder
- 3 large eggs (at room temperature)
- ½ cup avocado oil
- 3 medium apples (peeled and diced small)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
- ½ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray a 7-inch springform pan with baking spray, lining the bottom with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine sifted flour, sugar, and baking powder.
- Add eggs and avocado oil to the dry mixture and stir until smooth and thick.
- Gently fold diced apples into the batter until well coated.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- About five minutes before the cake is done, warm the milk, butter, and sugar in a pot over medium heat and whisk until combined.
- Once the cake is baked, poke 25-30 holes in the top and pour the warm milk mixture over it.
- Let the cake cool for 10-15 minutes, then remove from the pan and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for better flavor. Ensure eggs are at room temperature for easier mixing. Poking holes in the cake is essential for absorption of the milk mixture.
