- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/2 cup Marsala wine
- 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for sautéing)
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
- Combine soy sauce, chicken broth, and Marsala wine in a bowl.
- Place seasoned chicken in the crockpot and pour the sauce mixture over it, adding sliced mushrooms on top.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 3 hours until chicken is tender.
- Stir in heavy cream before serving.
Notes
For best flavor, sauté garlic before adding it to the slow cooker. You may add fresh herbs or other vegetables as desired.
