- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups mashed potatoes (prepared)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
- Add the ground beef or lamb and cook until browned.
- Stir in the diced carrots, frozen peas, tomato paste, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt, pepper, thyme, and rosemary. Simmer for about 5-10 minutes.
- Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Top with the prepared mashed potatoes, spreading them out to cover the meat.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve hot with a side salad or crusty bread. Can be frozen for later use.
