Ingredients

  • 1 whole turkey (1420 lbs)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive oil or melted butter
  • Herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, and sage)
  • Garlic (optional)
  • Onion (optional)
  • Vegetables (such as carrots and celery, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey from the packaging and pat it dry with paper towels.
  3. Season the cavity and skin of the turkey generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Rub olive oil or melted butter all over the turkey, and add herbs, garlic, and onion inside the cavity if desired.
  5. Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a roasting pan.
  6. Roast the turkey in the preheated oven for 13-15 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
