- 1 whole turkey (14–20 lbs)
- Salt
- Pepper
- Olive oil or melted butter
- Herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, and sage)
- Garlic (optional)
- Onion (optional)
- Vegetables (such as carrots and celery, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Remove the turkey from the packaging and pat it dry with paper towels.
- Season the cavity and skin of the turkey generously with salt and pepper.
- Rub olive oil or melted butter all over the turkey, and add herbs, garlic, and onion inside the cavity if desired.
- Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a roasting pan.
- Roast the turkey in the preheated oven for 13-15 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.
