Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup eggnog
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup rolled oats

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Mix well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggnog, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. If adding nuts, fold in the chopped pecans or walnuts.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. For the crumb topping, mix the brown sugar, oats, and cubed butter until crumbly.
  8. Sprinkle the crumb topping over the batter evenly.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  11. Slice and serve once cooled.

Notes

For best results, let the bread cool completely before slicing for the best texture.
