- 2 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with a paper towel.
- Mix together the salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the chicken thighs and coat them evenly.
- Sprinkle the spice mixture generously over the chicken thighs.
- Heat a large, oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken thighs skin-side down for about 5 minutes, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add the chicken broth and chopped garlic to the skillet.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra juicy chicken, consider brining the chicken thighs before cooking.
