Description

Tender and flavorful chicken thighs that fall off the bone, perfect for hearty dinners or gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pat the chicken thighs dry with a paper towel.
  3. Mix together the salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
  4. Drizzle the olive oil over the chicken thighs and coat them evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the spice mixture generously over the chicken thighs.
  6. Heat a large, oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken thighs skin-side down for about 5 minutes, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes.
  7. Add the chicken broth and chopped garlic to the skillet.
  8. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  9. Remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra juicy chicken, consider brining the chicken thighs before cooking.
