Description

A delightful homemade bread bursting with garlic and herb flavors, perfectly balanced by Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water (about 100-110°F)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried rosemary
  • 6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 to cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon butter (split for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water in a large bowl and let sit for about a minute until foamy.
  2. Stir in the salt, dried herbs, and chopped garlic until well blended.
  3. Add 2 cups of flour and grated Parmesan cheese; mix until a sticky dough forms.
  4. Gradually add more flour until the dough becomes soft and stretchy.
  5. Lightly oil a bowl, place the dough inside, cover, and let it rise in a warm area for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking sheet with olive oil.
  7. Punch down the dough, divide it into two balls, and shape them into rounds. Place them on the baking sheet.
  8. Let the dough rise again for 15-20 minutes.
  9. Brush each round with half a tablespoon of butter.
  10. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  11. Let cool slightly before slicing and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, ensure yeast is fresh and adjust flour based on humidity.
