A delightful alternative to the traditional coffee shop beverage, combining the warmth of spices with the creaminess of oat milk.
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup light brown sugar
- ⅓ cup water
- 1 ½ tbsp unsulphured molasses
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- ½ cup chai tea concentrate
- ½ – ¾ cup oat milk or milk of choice
- Handful of ice
- Coconut Whipped Cream or ¼ cup oat milk (to froth)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine light brown sugar and water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the unsulphured molasses, ground ginger, and ground cinnamon. Stir until the mixture simmers for about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, and let syrup cool.
- Brew chai tea concentrate according to package instructions.
- In a serving glass, add ice.
- Pour chai concentrate, followed by gingerbread syrup, then slowly pour oat milk.
- Froth coconut whipped cream or additional oat milk and top the drink.
Notes
Store the gingerbread syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
