Description

A unique twist on traditional chili, Gochujang Chile Con Carne combines hearty beef with the spicy, slightly sweet flavor of gochujang.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup gochujang paste
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the gochujang paste, diced tomatoes, kidney beans, beef broth, and cumin.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve hot.

Notes

Toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions, or fresh cilantro enhance the dish. Serve with cornbread or rice for a complete meal.
