- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 package cocktail rye bread
- Dijon mustard for serving
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, ground pork, and onion until the meat is browned and the onion is translucent.
- Stir in the garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Remove from heat and mix in the cheddar cheese until melted.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- On a baking sheet, place the cocktail rye bread slices and spoon the meat mixture onto each slice.
- Bake for about 10-15 minutes or until the bread is toasted and the topping is heated through.
- Serve warm with Dijon mustard.
