- 1 ½ cups warm water (about 100°F – 110°F)
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (or 1 packet)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 4 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- For the Garlic Butter:
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Prepare the Yeast Mixture: In a stand mixer bowl, mix the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Make the Dough: Once foamy, add in flour, olive oil, and salt. Knead on low speed until soft.
- Let the Dough Rest: Cover with a towel and let rest for 30 minutes to rise.
- Shape the Breadsticks: Punch down dough, divide into 16 pieces, and roll each into approximately 7-inch sticks on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Second Rise: Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 12–14 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare Garlic Butter: Mix melted butter, garlic powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Apply and Serve: Brush breadsticks with garlic butter immediately after baking and serve warm.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding cheese or herbs to the dough, or serve with marinara sauce.
