Scale
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- ½ cup hot fudge sauce

- ½ cup hot fudge sauce, warmed (for drizzling)

- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes. Beat in the eggs one at a time and add vanilla extract.
- Alternately add the dry ingredients and buttermilk, starting with dry ingredients, until just combined.
- Gently fold in the hot fudge sauce and chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool for 10 minutes, then drizzle with additional warm fudge sauce and sprinkle with extra chocolate chips and nuts if desired.
Notes
Serve warm with ice cream for the ultimate indulgence. Don’t overmix the batter to prevent a tough texture.
