Description

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Pork Shoulder/Butt Roast
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Rice Vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Hoisin Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha/Chili Garlic Sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon White Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup Water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pork shoulder by trimming any excess fat and cutting it into large chunks.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, Sriracha, and white pepper.
  3. Place the pork in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over it, ensuring all pieces are coated.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-6 hours until tender.
  5. Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred with two forks.
  6. Mix cornstarch with 1/4 cup water to create a slurry and stir into the remaining sauce in the slow cooker. Cook on high for 15-20 minutes until thickened.
  7. Return the shredded pork to the sauce in the slow cooker, toss, and warm through before serving.
