- 2 pounds Pork Shoulder/Butt Roast
- 1/2 cup Soy Sauce
- 1/4 cup Rice Vinegar
- 1/4 cup Honey
- 1/4 cup Hoisin Sauce
- 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha/Chili Garlic Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon White Pepper
- 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
- 1/4 cup Water
Instructions
- Prepare the pork shoulder by trimming any excess fat and cutting it into large chunks.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, Sriracha, and white pepper.
- Place the pork in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over it, ensuring all pieces are coated.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-6 hours until tender.
- Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred with two forks.
- Mix cornstarch with 1/4 cup water to create a slurry and stir into the remaining sauce in the slow cooker. Cook on high for 15-20 minutes until thickened.
- Return the shredded pork to the sauce in the slow cooker, toss, and warm through before serving.
Notes
Choose high-quality soy sauce and fresh ginger for the best flavor. Adjust seasoning to your preference before serving.
