Description

Delicious and filling Japanese Katsu Bowls featuring crispy breaded pork cutlets served over fluffy rice, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Pork cutlets
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup Flour
  • 1 Egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup Tonkatsu sauce
  • 2 cups Cooked rice
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season pork cutlets with salt and pepper.
  2. Dredge each cutlet in flour, dip in beaten egg, then coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Fry the breaded cutlets until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  5. Remove cutlets and let drain on paper towels.
  6. Slice cutlets and serve over cooked rice.
  7. Drizzle with tonkatsu sauce and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy texture. Don’t overcrowd the pan; fry cutlets in batches if necessary.
