- 4 pounds beef short ribs
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, gochugaru, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
- Place the beef short ribs in a large pot or Dutch oven and pour the sauce over them, ensuring they are well coated.
- Add beef broth to the pot.
- Cover the pot with a lid and place it in the oven.
- Braise for about 180 minutes or until the meat is tender and falls off the bone.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
- Skim any fat from the top of the sauce if necessary.
- Serve the ribs with the sauce, garnishing with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
Choose well-marbled short ribs for better flavor. For deeper flavors, consider marinating overnight.
