- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Season with paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom.
- Spread the beef mixture over the potatoes.
- Top with the remaining potato slices.
- Pour beef broth and sour cream over the layered ingredients.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top, and bake for another 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding other vegetables like carrots or bell peppers. Use a mix of cheeses for a different taste. Make sure to slice the potatoes thinly for even cooking.
