Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon matcha green tea powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt until they are well combined.
- In another bowl, beat the softened butter with both the white sugar and powdered sugar until the mixture is creamy and light.
- Add the vanilla extract and egg to the butter mixture, mixing until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until everything is combined. Take care not to overmix.
- Scoop tablespoons of dough and place them onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are lightly golden. The centers may look a bit soft; that’s okay!
- Allow the cookies to cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
Use ceremonial-grade matcha for the best flavor. Consider chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes for enhanced flavor and texture.
