Description

A unique and delicious matcha pound cake that combines vibrant green tea flavors with the classic texture of pound cake.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup matcha green tea powder
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and matcha powder in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use high-quality matcha for the best flavor. Store properly to keep cake moist.
