- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup ketchup (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, diced onion, egg, 1/4 cup ketchup, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup ketchup with brown sugar and spread it over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Do not overmix the ingredients to keep the meatloaf tender. You can add veggies like bell peppers or carrots for extra nutrition.
