A delightful twist on traditional pie featuring sweet nectarines in a buttery crust, perfect for summer gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2–3 nectarines, sliced
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pre-made pie crust
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash, optional)
- Flour for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Toss the sliced nectarines with sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Roll out the pie crust on a floured surface into a rustic circular shape.
- Place the nectarine mixture in the center of the crust, leaving a border around the edges.
- Fold the edges of the crust over the nectarines, creating a lovely, rustic look.
- Beat the egg with the milk (if using) and brush this egg wash over the crust.
- Bake the galette for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the nectarines are bubbling.
- Let it cool slightly before serving to allow the filling to set.
Notes
For best results, use ripe but firm nectarines and consider chilling the crust for a flakier texture.
