Description

A delightful twist on traditional pie featuring sweet nectarines in a buttery crust, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 23 nectarines, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash, optional)
  • Flour for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Toss the sliced nectarines with sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Roll out the pie crust on a floured surface into a rustic circular shape.
  4. Place the nectarine mixture in the center of the crust, leaving a border around the edges.
  5. Fold the edges of the crust over the nectarines, creating a lovely, rustic look.
  6. Beat the egg with the milk (if using) and brush this egg wash over the crust.
  7. Bake the galette for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the nectarines are bubbling.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving to allow the filling to set.

Notes

For best results, use ripe but firm nectarines and consider chilling the crust for a flakier texture.
