- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or penne)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup water
- 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Optional: 2 tablespoons cream cheese or sour cream
- Optional: chopped parsley or basil for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Pour in whole milk and water, and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in the pasta, ensuring it is submerged in the liquid.
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions, stirring occasionally.
- When the pasta is al dente, reduce heat and stir in the Parmesan, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Add cream cheese or sour cream for extra creaminess if desired.
- Remove from heat and let sit for a couple of minutes to thicken the sauce.
- Serve warm, garnished with parsley or basil if desired.
Notes
For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes. Customize with veggies or protein as per your preference.
