- 1.5 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined; do not overmix.
- Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a baking dish.
- In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce for the glaze.
- Spread half of the glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove from oven, spread the remaining glaze over the meatloaf, and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Serve with sides like mashed potatoes or green beans. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
