Description

A healthy spin on traditional pizza, this Pizza Cottage Cheese Bake combines creamy cottage cheese with delicious pizza flavors, making it perfect for lunch or dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups full-fat cottage cheese
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • 1 cup pasta sauce (marinara or pizza sauce)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup mixed pizza toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, olives, mushrooms)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese, 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, eggs, oregano, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined.
  3. Spread a thin layer of pasta sauce at the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. Pour half of the cottage cheese mixture into the baking dish, smoothing it out evenly.
  5. Add your choice of pizza toppings over the cottage cheese layer, followed by another layer of pasta sauce.
  6. Pour the remaining cottage cheese mixture over the toppings, and top with the rest of the pasta sauce and remaining mozzarella cheese.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use quality toppings for a better taste and experiment with different cheeses to customize the flavor. Adjust the amount of sauce for a drier or saucier bake.
