- 4 slices of bread
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 4 slices of cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
- 1/4 cup sliced bell peppers (optional)
- 1/4 cup sliced olives (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Butter one side of two slices of bread.
- Place the buttered slices down in the skillet, layer cheese, pizza sauce, pepperoni, and other toppings.
- Butter the other two slices of bread and place them on top with the butter-side facing up.
- Cook until the bottom is golden brown and the cheese begins to melt, then flip and cook until the second side is golden brown and the cheese completely melts.
- Remove from the skillet, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
Use sturdy bread for best results. Grate cheese for optimal meltiness. Experiment with toppings and don’t skimp on butter for flavor.
