Description

A hearty and comforting dish combining ground beef, cabbage, and rice, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 small cabbage, shredded
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, with juice
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until browned, about 7 minutes. Drain any fat.
  3. Add the shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes (with juice), cooked rice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  4. Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes to let the flavors blend.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30–35 minutes, until the cabbage is tender.
  7. Let it rest for 5 minutes, then serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a dollop of sour cream or fresh herbs on top. This dish can also be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for 2 months.
