- 4 medium potatoes
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Thinly slice the potatoes and onion.
- In a greased baking dish, layer the potatoes and onion.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter, then add garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Stir in heavy cream, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the mixture over the potatoes.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with parsley before serving.
Notes
For a crispy top layer, broil the scalloped potatoes for a few minutes after baking.
