Description

Crispy yet tender shrimp balls, perfect as appetizers or part of a meal, packed with flavor and protein.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for binding)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the shrimp and combine with breadcrumbs, beaten egg, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, pepper, and cilantro in a bowl. Mix well and chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet. Drop spoonfuls of the shrimp mixture into the hot oil. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with dipping sauces.

Notes

For a healthier option, consider baking or air-frying the shrimp balls instead of frying.
