Description

Transform sourdough discard into delicious brownie cookies that combine chewy texture with rich chocolate flavor, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sourdough discard, melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix well.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture, stirring until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers are still gooey. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
