Description

A fun and easy appetizer combining the classic taste of spinach dip with flaky puff pastry, perfect for parties or cozy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag frozen chopped spinach (10 oz), thawed and drained
  • 1 block cream cheese (8 oz), softened
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1/4 cup mayo
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, for brushing

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, Parmesan, mayo, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Squeeze the spinach to remove excess water and mix it into the bowl until even.
  2. Flour the counter and roll out the puff pastry. Spread the spinach mixture, leaving one long side empty for sealing. Roll it tightly like a jelly roll.
  3. Wrap the log in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  4. Slice the log into half-inch rounds and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Beat the egg with a splash of water and brush it on top. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and puffed.

Notes

Ensure to squeeze out all moisture from the spinach for a crisp pastry. Customize with different cheeses for varied flavors.
