Description
A fun and easy appetizer combining the classic taste of spinach dip with flaky puff pastry, perfect for parties or cozy nights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bag frozen chopped spinach (10 oz), thawed and drained
- 1 block cream cheese (8 oz), softened
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
- 1/4 cup mayo
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, for brushing
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine cream cheese, Parmesan, mayo, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Squeeze the spinach to remove excess water and mix it into the bowl until even.
- Flour the counter and roll out the puff pastry. Spread the spinach mixture, leaving one long side empty for sealing. Roll it tightly like a jelly roll.
- Wrap the log in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Slice the log into half-inch rounds and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Beat the egg with a splash of water and brush it on top. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and puffed.
Notes
Ensure to squeeze out all moisture from the spinach for a crisp pastry. Customize with different cheeses for varied flavors.
