Description

A creamy and savory dish combining mashed potatoes, ground beef, and cheese, perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds potatoes
  • 1 cup ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and boil the potatoes until tender. Drain and mash with milk, butter, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Mix the cooked beef with cheese and optional seasonings.
  4. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  5. In a baking dish, scoop a layer of mashed potatoes, make a well in the center, fill it with the beef and cheese mixture, and top it with more mashed potatoes.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Make sure your potatoes are well mashed for a creamy texture. Use any cheese you prefer and add extra seasonings to taste.
