Description

A delightful dish that blends savory pork with sweet and tangy garlic sauce, perfect for impressing friends and family.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lb pork side ribs
  • 8 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp Chinese cooking wine (optional)
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Cut the pork side ribs into cubes by following the bones.
  2. Cook the pork in boiling water for 3-4 minutes, then set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix dark soy sauce, soy sauce, ketchup, rice vinegar, Chinese cooking wine, and sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Stir in the minced garlic and continue to sauté for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Pour in the sauce mixture and stir for 1-2 minutes until the pork is well-coated.
  7. Add 2 cups of water, bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 30 minutes.
  8. Increase heat to high and cook uncovered for an additional 3-4 minutes to thicken the sauce.

Notes

Trim excess fat from the pork for better results and consider marinating the pork for deeper flavor.
