  • ⅓ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 egg yolk (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast: In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and instant yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix the Dough: In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, condensed milk, egg, and softened butter. Stir until combined, then knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. First Rise: Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 30-45 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  4. Shape the Dough: Once risen, punch down the dough and shape into a loaf. Place in a greased loaf pan and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Apply Egg Wash & Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush the top with egg wash and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Cool & Serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature!
